Portugal have topped Group A in the Confederations Cup and have made it to the last four of the competition unbeaten after dispatching of minnows, New Zealand.

Fernando Santos' men finished on the same points as Mexico, but topped the group on goal difference after Ronaldo, Bernardo Silva, Andre Silva, and Nani all got on the scoresheet in the 4-0 win.

The European side were in charge from the get-go and took the lead 33 minutes in when Danilo was fouled inside the box and CR7 stepped up to confidently dispatch the spotkick. Santos' team talk then got much easier as they doubled their lead four minutes later through new Manchester City signing, Bernardo Silva.

The second period proved to be very comfortable for the European champions, and even though it took them to 80 minutes to add to their lead, they were always in control. Ten minutes from time, Silva burst into the area before smashing a strike past the goalkeeper, while Nani made it 4-0 in injury time with a smart finish into the corner.

The Real Madrid star will be hoping to guide his side to another international competition victory within a year as they are only two games away from the feat.
