Jose Mourinho has changed his mind on Cristiano Ronaldo's mooted return to Manchester United and does no longer want the club to bid for the Real Madrid superstar, according to football journalist Tancredi Palmeri.

CR7 informed Los Blancos last week that he intends to make the move away from the Spanish capital this summer due to the fact he is under intense media scrutiny for alleged unpaid tax payments from the authorities. He has never enjoyed a totally jovial relationship with the Santiago Bernabeu faithful either, with a minority of the support still booing him on occasion.

Ronaldo put himself on the map at Manchester United and won the Ballon d'Or there for the first time, while he continually speaks of how much he misses the English Premier League as a competition. Naturally, the Old Trafford outfit instantly became favourites to re-sign him when the exit rumours grew.

The Portuguese and his countryman Mourinho had a tumultuous relationship when they were both at Madrid, but any ill-feeling was thought to have shrunk as they years have gone one.

No confirmation has come from 'The Special One's' camp regarding the reason for this, but perhaps there is still some tension after all.
