Arsenal target Mbappe and Lacazette
Wednesday, 21 June 2017The Gunners are on the hunt for a new centre-forward and Arsene Wenger has reportedly targeted two of his compatriots to lead the attacking line next season...
Arsenal are set to swoop for Alexandre Lacazette of Lyon if they fail in their pursuit of Kylian Mbappe, according to the Metro.
Following a disappointing season in which Arsene Wenger failed to guide his charges to the Champions League group stage for the very first time under his tenure, he is focused on rebuilding for next season which includes the purchase of a new, world-class striker.
The number one target is Mbappe of Monaco however this is looking increasingly unlikely with the 18-year-old reportedly set to sign for Real Madrid, while the transfer fee would be at least double what Arsenal have paid for a player previously. Lacazette, therefore, looks the more likely target and would be keen on linking up with the Gunners even without Champions League football.
The Lyon forward is coming off an outstanding campaign in which he netted 37 goals in 45 games for the Ligue 1 outfit.
