Following alleged unpaid tax payments from the Spanish authorities and the fact that CR7 still receives some boos from some sections of the Santiago Bernabeu crowd, it seemed that he had had enough with life in La Liga and decided to move on. Manchester United was tipped as the main potential destination, but Los Blancos may just hold on to their talisman thanks to Perez.

The Real Madrid chairman spoke to a Spanish radio station this week and not only expressed an extreme desire to have Ronaldo stay, but also ferociously defended him and offered his support in regards to the unpaid tax allegations.

This will come as music to the ears of the vast majority of the Madrid fans, but this saga is nowhere near to being over.
