Earlier this summer Real Madrid shocked the footballing world when they forked out an astonishing €46 million euros on a 16-year-old who plays for Flamengo, but if his reputation is anything to go by then it could prove to be a steal if he ends up living up to the hype...

Los Blancos are planning for the future. A few days ago the Spanish capital club forked out the huge fee of €46 million to land Vinicius, beating off suitors including Manchester United and Barcelona in the process.

The 16-year-old has only made one senior appearance for Flamengo in his homeland, but the talent has been there for all to see and Madrid have decided to gamble on him becoming one of the very best players in the world over the next 10 years or so.

The player himself spoke this week about the move, and is endearingly excited about finally coming to Europe.

"It still hasn't sunk in," he recently told the media. "I really like Cristiano Ronaldo and Bale.

"I'm happy with reaching the objective, but now is about going step by step to win many titles with the Flamengo shirt. Then I will think about Real Madrid"

The Flamengo player will remain in Brazil for two years and will link up with Los Blancos in 2019.
