Ronaldo set to get superstar new team-mate

Ronaldo set to get superstar new team-mate

Friday, 14 July 2017

In one of the most dragged out transfer sagas of recent years, David de Gea has been continually linked with a move from Manchester United in the Premier League to his home nation of Spain with Real Madrid the desired destination, but it seems the goalkeeper has finally decided to force the move through...

Real Madrid could finally be set to sign David de Gea after years of speculation surrounding the future of the Manchester United stopper.

The 26-year-old made his name in European football with Los Blancos' city rivals, Atletico Madrid, but it is thought that the connection to Diego Simeone's outfit is not strong enough for him to turn down a move to the 12-time Champions League winners.

The Red Devils have been on a downward spiral since the departure of Alex Ferguson and have only managed to qualify for the Champions League this season through winning the Europa League last campaign, and De Gea reportedly believes he will not win Europe's premier club competition if he does not leave for the Spanish capital.

Every single transfer window there seems to be newspaper headlines devoted to this move, but on this occasion there is certainly strength behind the rumours as the Spaniard has apparently informed his agent, Jorge Mendes, to make the move happen as soon as possible to replace Keylor Navas as the club's No.1.

The transfer actually looked to have been confirmed back in 2015 with a £29 million fee agreed between Manchester United and Real Madrid, but an administrative error at the eleventh hour meant the move didn't happen, with both teams typically blaming each other for the fiasco.

This time, Los Blancos will have to pay at least £50 million to land De Gea.

I did already.
