Sources: Ronaldo WILL make the Clasico in Miami

Sources: Ronaldo WILL make the Clasico in Miami

Friday, 14 July 2017

The Portuguese superstar has enjoyed a massively successful calendar year in which he has claimed the European Championships with Portugal and the Spanish Primera Division and Champions League trophies with Real Madrid, but with such success he has been granted an extended rest over the summer due to his participation in the Confederations Cup...

Cristiano Ronaldo is one of the hardest working men in sports and during the season you will barely see him put a foot wrong in terms of his fitness. The summer is no different, but at the moment he is currently enjoying some well-earned rest and recuperation after playing constantly through the Euros, the league, the Champions League, and the Confederations Cup over the course of the year.

Real Madrid have started their pre-season and made it to the United States earlier this week with the International Champions Cup on the horizon. The prestigious pre-season tournament features the most glamorous teams in Europe competing in friendly matches to give fans the other side of the Atlantic a sight of their favourite footballing superstars.

Los Blancos have obviously been met with plenty of fan-fare, but the omission of CR7 is certainly a blow to the sponsors who will be eager to get the most famous players brushing shoulders with sponsors etc.

Perhaps the biggest match of Madrid's tour of the United States is set to take place on the 29th of July in Miami as they face FC Barcelona in the Clasico.

The likes of Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Gareth Bale, and Karim Benzema will all be in attendance for their respective clubs, while it was thought that Ronaldo would miss this match due to his break.

However, an official for Relevant Sports, the organisation behind the International Champions Cup, has claimed that the 32-year-old will be present for the glamour tie on the 29th, even though he is set to appear in court to defend himself against alleged unpaid tax payments on the 31st of the same month.

It remains to be seen whether Ronaldo will make the trip, but the American fans will be eager not to be disappointed.

I did already.
