In the off-season with no competitive elite European football on the schedule, it is important every so often to remember why you love football so much, and indeed love Cristiano Ronaldo, so here we have the moment he was crowned as the most prolific goalscorer in the history of the world's biggest club...

Back in October of 2015, the Spanish Primera Division was in it's first few months of the season and Real Madrid had started the campaign well alongside Villarreal, with the duo exchanging top spot regularly over a few weeks. The league status-quo would eventually even out with Barcelona and Atletico Madrid eventually challenging up top, but Los Blancos were on fire from the off thanks mainly to heir talisman, Cristiano Ronaldo.

On the 17th of the month, CR7 had the opportunity to put his name further into the record books and become Real Madrid's all-time top goalscorer. Shortly after Marcelo gave the Spanish capital club the lead, the Portuguese superstar did this to double the lead:

Jese would go on to make it 3-0 as Madrid won, but the story of the evening was Ronaldo netting his 324th goal for Los Blancos which surpassed Raul Gonzalez's record of 323, and in 431 games fewer no less.

Cristiano would go on to smash his own record in the next couple of seasons and has now netted over 400 goals in the white of Real Madrid.
